In healthy eating, condiments often get a bad wrap…especially mayonnaise. So many additives…that just can’t be good, right? So, in my fitness journey, I make my own mayo at home. It’s great for meals on the go, dips, or some extra-juicy baked chicken so you can keep your favorite recipes, but add that healthy paleo twist! After discovering this little trick, I’ll never buy Hellmann’s again!
- 1 Pint Mason Jar
- 1 egg
- 1 Cup Extra Light Tasting Olive Oil
- 2 t lemon juice
- 1/2 t salt
Put all ingredients in mason jar and place an immersion blender into the jar. Turn it on, and magic…it’s mayo! This keeps for about a week in the fridge, so make that tuna salad and rejoice!
Looking for some extra flavors? Stir these ingredients into your mayo for extra flavors:
- Sriracha Mayo: Stir in desired amount of Sriracha to prepped mayo. Great on sushi or to spice up your eggs!
- “Ranch” Mayo: Add Dill and Cilantro
- Onion Dip: add deheydrated onions, 1 T worstershire sauce and a pinch of garlic salt
