Rainy days. They just getcha down. Wanna make it worse? Add on fighting with your phone company and academic course transfer for your move…and yeah, today is just swell.
But it’s ok…I’ll get my cookie dough…NOPE, that’s banned now too. Raw eggs, yeah take the risk but now no raw flour too? Awesome. (if you’re lost, catch up here: New York Times Blog: FDA Ruins Raw Cookie Dough for Everyone ).
So, since I can’t mope, I got my sweat on and now have accepted a new challenge…cookie dough protein snacks. I’ve made protein bites, shakeology balls…all that jazz before, but sometimes you just need to grab a big ole spoon and go to town.
And that I did.
I started with my protein powder base, but went for Vanilla Shakeology instead of my go-to chocolate. Then added in some sun butter (if you aren’t on this stuff, get on it!) and vanilla, and of course the chocolate chips.
Does it taste exactly like that just out of the package cookie dough gooeyness? Nope, but it sure does run a close second. What’s best, it gets me my shakeology serving for the day and a nice post-workout treat.
Try for yourself!
- 1 Packet or Scoop Vanilla Shakeology
- 2 TBS Sun Butter
- 1 TBS Greek Yogurt
- 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 TBS Chocolate Chips (Let’s not get too greedy ya’ll…but I won’t judge)
- 1/4 tsp milk or nut milk
- Itty-bitty pinch of salt
Grab your favorite coffee mug and add the 2 scoops of sun butter. Microwave on high 30 seconds. Add the yogurt, vanilla, salt and shakeology and stir. Add in milk and chocolate chips. If a little grainy, add more milk. Chill if desired and dig in!
